DGM in cooperation with Federation of Thailand Productivity Institute organized a seminar on "Business Excellence in India's Manufacturing" on 4 August 2006. The keynote speaker was Mr. Suresh Lulla, Founder and Managing Director of Qimpro Standards Organization. The guest speaker were Mr. Deepak Mittal, Group President of Aditya Birla Group and Khun Nataya Chungcham, Director of Momentum Consultant. The objectives of the seminar were to provide the knowledge about the evolution of Business Excellence in India. The seminar topics are as follows:

• Evolution of Business Excellence Model
• Foundation and Infrastructure required to attain world-class standards of performance excellence organization
• Case study : roadmap to the Excellence of India
  
  

On September 28, 2006 DGM in cooperation with Petroleum Institute of Thailand organized a public lecture on "Cost of Poor Quality". The course was conducted by Mr. Suresh Lulla, Managing Director of Qimpro Standards Organization and Mr. NK Dalan, Managing Director of DGM gave the opening. The seminar was about the overview of the Cost of Poor Quality, a hidden cost which is normally overseen by organization. Most organizations have a tendency to focus on the initial or visible 5-10% of total cost (waste, rework, inspection costs, etc). What is not evident, but crucial is that the rest 15-25% of the hidden cost (excessive overtime, excess inventory, excessive employee turnover, etc) is not visible.

On March 20, 2007, Mr Lulla presented "World Class Quality", a seminar organized by Thailand Management Association. The seminar focused on how Indian companies have gone beyond "Managing for Quality" to"Quality of Management". Mr. Lulla gave the example that over 70 percent of the companies in India, the quality process has failed to produce results that support the strategic or financial goals of top management. In contrast, a few successful companies have used quality improvement as the cornerstone of their competitive strategies and accomplishment in the market place.
